Things must be tough if you can't afford to get
divorced.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a number of couples are delaying getting divorced because of the cost. They aren't talking about attorney's fees, either. It's a lifestyle issue.
One of the hard facts about divorce is that there are now two households instead of just one. Each of the households is supported by only one person, too. Unless there's a new spouse or a roommate, a former spouse's living situation can be financially draining.
It seems cavalier - staying together because it's cheaper - but some now consider a divorce a luxury.
